SHOULD WE GO UNPLUGGED?
HINTS + TIPS
WILL YOUR GUESTS BE TRULY PRESENT DURING YOUR CEREMONY?
An unplugged wedding refers to your ceremony and encourages your guests to be mindfully present. It means that your guests will not be moving around with an phone or i-pad in front of their faces. They are asked to not take photos during this time.
HOW do we ask guests to not use their phones or cameras during our ceremony?
EASY– ask your wedding celebrant to make an announcement at the beginning of the ceremony.
And have a sign posted to let your guests know as they arrive.
When deciding to have an unplugged wedding ceremony, ask yourselves these questions:
Do I want people in internet land to see our ceremony photos before we do?
Do I want my guests standing up in front of the photographer, especially in the aisle during the key moments? It could mean you have a camera in the frame as you go in for your first kiss.
Do I want my friends and family to be really present at that time, or fiddling with a phone camera?
